Lav Kush Ramlila Committee, one of the oldest committees in Delhi, was established in the year 1979. Since its inception the committee has been organizing Ramlila at Red Fort, Delhi.
The Committee is being governed by the office bearers, elected out of dignitaries, prominent citizens, businessmen and other learned personalities.
Lav Kush Ramlila Committee has achieved the recognition as the favorite organization in Delhi. It has also achieved the recognition of best Ramlila committee in Delhi central zone and conferred with an award by Nav Bharat Times.
The persons mainly behind the dominating activities are :

Ramlila is a dramatic folk re-enactment of the ten day battle between Lord Ram and Ravan, as described in the Hindu religious epic. It begins with “Ganesh Puja” on the first day of Navratri. As many as 150 artists perform the respective roles. The play continues for 11 days. The 10th day is observed as ‘Dussehra’ (Vijay Dashmi) when effigies of Ravana, Meghnad & Kumbhkarn are burnt which symbolizes the triumph of Good over Evil. Ramlila ends with “Bharat Milap” on the 11th day.
Fifteen days before the place meant for Ramlila celebration is worshipped which is generally known as ‘Bhoomi Pujan’.
Thereafter a pandal is erected with Gates of decorated facades. A Mela is organized within the venue premises where food, eatables, snacks & drinks etc. and various other items are available.
Apart from other stage programs, attractive Kavi Sammelan, Keertan of Khatu Shyam Baba, program of Baba Satnarain Mourya is arranged. Fire Works Competition is held followed by prize distribution.
Invitation cards are printed and distributed. The management is cautious about arranging proper security at the ground throughout the entire period of the festival. Besides Police post sufficient numbers of volunteers are deployed...
Besides Prime Minister of India, Cabinet Ministers, Religious & Social leaders, Celebrities, Dignitaries and general people from all communities witness the functions with exhilaration.
Religious personalities like Baba Ramdev, Shri Sudhanshu Maharaj, Shri Ashutoshji Maharaj of Divyojyoti Jagriti Mission and their disciples also addressed the audience and impress everybody with their divine thoughts & explanations thereof.
